Summary
This page discusses some issues that arise when a page contains runtime scripts that induce errors during the browsing process.

• JavaScript (also called JScript or VBscript or ECMAScript) errors are detected by eValid but are not corrected or ignored. If detected during a test playback by eValid you will see a WARNING message in the EventLog like this:

         Encountered script error, line: NNN, char: NNN, error: MESSAGE, code: RESULT, URL: URL

  This eValid WARNING message relays to the EventLog the information that it has retrieved from the internal scripting engine.

• The IE browser automatically and silently corrects -- or ignores -- certain broad classes of JavaScript failures. eValid, being a QA/Testing tool, does NOT attempt to correct, but reports them to the user as described.

• When pages have untrapped JavaScript (JScript) or VBscript errors you often see unusual behaviors, and for such pages it is common that script repairs will be needed to make sure your eValid tests play back reliably.

• In very rare cases, when a page introduces a JavaScript passage that has irrecoverable errors that interfere with subsequent page navigation, eValid operation cannot continue.
