eValid -- Transaction Monitoring Agent Justifications
eValid Home
The eValid test engine --
being a 100% browser based solution
(eValid really *IS* a browser,
not a wrapper or proxy or emulation) --
brings many advantages to the table in
regard to web transaction testing/monitoring.
Here are the main justifications for adopting eValid
as a monitoring agent:
-
Realism
100% realistic operation.
A transaction played back with eValid is, from the
server's perspective,
indistinguishable from a real user.
- Ease of Use
eValid makes it easy to create test scripts.
What you see and what you do is what eValid records and what eValid plays.
Customers could even record their own eValid test scripts.
Scripts are easy to maintain, lowering maintenance costs.
- Simplicity
eValid scripts are text files,
the command language is very simple (no programming is required),
and typical eValid scripts are quite short.
Think in terms of one or two commands per step, so a 10-step
transaction would need only a couple of dozen commands.
- Last-Mile Measurement Accuracy
The internal performance timings made by eValid --
the results of actually browsing pages and processing inputs --
are accurate to about 0.1%.
These playbacks reflect
very realistic "last mile" timing and performance
data if the eValid client is run on the same kind of web connect
as that of a typical user, e.g. DSL.
- Scalability
Installed on a Windows appliance machine of modest power you
can easily get 1,000 tests per hour, maybe even more.
You can run multiple tests --
even dozens or hundreds of tests --
simultaneously.
Every eValid playback --
launched in batch mode from the scheduler --
is a separate process and is independent of all other playbacks.
- Economics
The total cost of ownership of eValid is very low.
For some of our monitoring customers,
using an eValid Commercial License,
costs are typically ~$0.01 per test.
That figure can be much lower for sufficiently high volume usage.
- Universal Applicability
We have had 100% success in achieving reliable playback on ANY
web browser enabled application.
We guarantee it!
Do not consider the eValid test engine as something
to supplant or replace valuable technology
that you may already be using successfully.
Instead, think of eValid as a way to augment and strengthen
your available technology
for difficult to monitor situations and as a way to simplify test
maintenance.
