Technical Analysis and Benchmarking
E-valid analyses the website doing a technical analysis of the site and provides a series of metrics indicating the technical quality of the websites and when a number of same purpose sites are done together it provides benchmarks. The results provide an overview of the interface, and ideal flows in theory.
Getting the returns you want
A lot of designers stop here and implement the findings, but will these findings achieve the desired results - a usable and more efficient site that complements your company?
To ensure ideal flows, usability or ergonomics methodologies should be incorporated into the design process, working with the design team.
Doing this reduces time in creating ideal interfaces and reduces cost in the long run.
Having your site's metrics and using them in the design process helps us to provide you with a site which gives you the returns you want.
What is needed is an independent evaluation of the website that returns to and tests the key objectives of the site: to inform, to assist, transact and support a number of key stakeholders, particularly customers and potential customers.
Our method:
The principle methodology that we have developed and have used in part in other research is a scenario-based methodology underpinned by a proprietary model of the online channel. It can be broken down into three integrated components:
1. Website Technical Quality: this is principally a technical assessment of the website using eValid which is a browser based, website assessment tool. It delivers a number of metrics, like page size, broken links, site structure etc all of which relate to the overall performance of the website and its quality. These measures will allow us to compare and map companies’ websites relative to each other.
2. Website usability and Information Architecture: we have developed a method of assessing and comparing corporate websites for their ability to support a number of different types of scenarios interacting within a multichannel environment. This will look at a number of key content items, their presentation and the navigational relationship between them.
3. Email Responsiveness: we assess the timeous ability of the company to respond to an email enquiry as well as the quality of that response both in terms of the format and an analysis of the content.
3. Tools:
