eValid -- Netscape + FireFox Playback, Windows Version
eValid Home

Summary
This page describes the Netscape and FireFox, Windows and Unix/Linux Playback Configuration of eValid called NSPLAY.

Version Delivery
The NSPLAY is a plugin for the Netscape and/or FireFox browser on Windows and UNIX/Linux. There is a separate NSPLAY Installation Instruction page for this eValid component.

Once installed, the NSPLAY option remains installed in that instance of the Netscape and/or FireFox browser. If it is not being used for testing purposes it has no effect on the behavior of the Netscape and/or FireFox browser.

Scripts Processed
Any eValid script can be played back with the NSPLAY configuration. If a command is encountered that is not supported a MESSAGE saying "This command is not currently supported in this version" is put in the event log.

Limitations in NSPLAY include the following:

EventLog Description
This version of eValid produces EventLog files in the standard Event Log Format.

Command Line and Configuration File Operation
You can run the NSPLAY version of eValid from the command line, specify various playback options from command line or from a configuration file. These available command line options are described in the NSPLAY Batch Command and Configuration File page.

Expected Variations
Netscape/FF on Windows and Unix/Linux are four different browser systems on two different environments. You would not expect all of the timing and response level detail to be identical as compared with running the same script on eValid. However, you would expect the timings to be commensurate and at the same time, under the same web conditions, the timing data ought to be within 1% of eValid times.

License Requirements
The NSPLAY eValid playback only version for Netscape/Firefox requires a current NSPLAY feature key on the current machine, as well as a PROF license on that same machine.
