Java can be added to IE 6.0, IE 7, IE 8, or IE 9 by installing the Sun Microsystems version of the Java plug-in and Java runtime.
These components are readily available from the Sun website and, once installed, IE 6.0, IE 7, IE 8, or IE 9 has full Java support.
