General Introduction
See how much capacity your server has, don't send customers away. Be assured that your server performs acceptably well during periods of peak user loading. eValid imposes 100% realistic load using multiple eValid browsers running in parallel on your LoadTest machine. You can have all browsers running the same script, or all running different scripts. A build-in reporting engine classifies users by user classes and reports detailed timings for each user class. By running multiple copies of the eValid browser simultaneously, eValid imposes heavy work loads on a web server. You experience real performance, because there are no virtual users.

Detailed Quick Steps Recipe
This example explains how to construct a basic server loading test.

1. From the eValid browser, navigate to the site you want to test by entering the URL in the address bar.

2. Begin the LoadTest by creating one or more Functional Tests, or identify the script file to be played back during the LoadTest scenario. We used the prior Functional Test script.

3. Select LoadTest > New LoadTest, on the eValid Toolbar.

4. The LoadTest Script Creation Form appears. The wait time set to 1 second and the load to 5 simultaneous users.

5. Enter the name of your script (ex. Test.evs) in the frame called Script File at the bottom.

6. Click on the Create Script Line button to generate a single line in the LoadTest Script. Hit the Create Script Line button 4 more times to create 25 simultaneous users.

7. Click the Save and Load Script button to transfer the script to eValid.

8. Press F6 to run LoadTest or on the Toolbar click LoadTest > Start LoadTest.

9. Save the LoadTest Monitor. Your LoadTest starts running.

10. When the EVAL/DEMO Playback Complete Page arrives, all the reports show up as well: the Event log, the LoadTest Scenario, the Script File, and the LoadTest Chart.

Lessons Learned
eValid downloaded the Amazon home page 25 times, imposing the save load on the web server as 25 simultaneous users. The load report shows the variations in download time: the slowest download tool 8.292 seconds and the fastest 1.432 seconds. Identical results are displayed in the graphical LoadTest Chart, by moving your cursor along the stacked color bars.
