eValid -- Rich Internet Application Monitoring -- Zenoss Integration
eValid Home
Introduction
eValid Rich Internet Application (RIA) monitoring consists of regularly
scheduled playbacks of eValid test scripts that exercise selected features
of a candidate website.
The RIA monitoring data can be integrated for reporting in the the
Zenoss -- Monitoring and Management System.
General Information
Rich Internet Application (RIA) monitoring is supported by eValid
through both a standard package of licenses, and a unique eValid-based
script provisioning work package.
-
RIA Monitoring Standard Package
The standard package includes a Master Station (for script development
and checkout) and two Agent Stations (for script playback, one for
an intranet and one for an extranet agent).
-
RIA Monitoring Script Provisioning Services
eValid engineering staff will identify the RIA requirements,
and build script that run reliably, for two typical scenarios.
- Reliable Operation
eValid agent stations operate on Windows NT/XP/Vista environments,
under control of the
Windows Scheduler,
which interfaces to eVaild via the
Command Line Interface.
- AJAX Support
The standard packages above do not provide for use of the PAGEMAP
feature, which is needed by eValid if the functional playbacks
are against a site that involves AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript
and XML) implementations.
Zenoss Specific
eValid playbacks generate data that is stored in the eValid EventLog file.
There is a standard
eValid-to-Zenoss Integration Script
which interfaces eValid logfile output into the Zenoss reporting and display system.
Here is a sample image of how the reporting in the Zenoss monitor appears for a script
that includes several intermediate checkpoints:
